Neįsipareigojus ir tuo patenkinta | Single and proud

Haven't been writing for ages! And what could be an easier way to start again than to babble a bit about the relationships of heart and brain, haha.

I am single and you will have to be damn awesome to change that.
Whenever I read something of that sorts I thought - yeah right! As if there are people who don't dream of being in relationship. They're just saying that 'cause they can't find anyone, etc etc. Massive exaggeration anyway.

Venecija - meilės ir romantikos miestas | Venice - the city of love and romance

This new idea has been round in my head for a while now but only recently have I fully appreciated how true it is. And the idea is that I am amazing - or aim and work to be so - and I have so many goals, ambitions, dreams and plans on how I want to be and what I want to do that I wouldn't get bored for the rest of my life. Thus if anyone worthy and fun is gonna tag along - great! And if not - oh well, but I definitely don't feel the need to be in a relationship (which first of all means the dreaded compromise to me) just for the sake of being in one. I don't know where this confidence is coming from but: I'm not one wing that needs another wing to fly - I'm a whole bird with a potential to make up a pair, if lucky.

All in all, I'm keeping my eyes, hands and heart open for any upcoming opportunity to keep growing with someone, in a team rather than individually, but I'm closing the active search of someone - anyone- just so I wouldn't stay single as I'd much rather put that time and effort into making myself even more awesome (galleries and books - here I come!). Single is not lonely, and I'm actually enjoying it!

Never take great friend for granted

Great friends are family, and family is the single most important thing in life.

The slight difference between friends and family, however, is that your family will stay with you no matter what, while even greatest friends go if you don't appreciate them.

It's very easy to take great friend for granted - he's there, he's always there, he's always going to be there. No. This false assumption which you don't even realise you're making allows you to get self-involved. You have problems, you have duties, you have so many things to do and think about all day all night people depend on you you can't slack on studies too but you have to do this and that and you have to go go go...

Somewhere in your subconsciousness you know your friends do too, and they usually even bigger problems and more things going on, and it's not that you don't care but it's just so many things whirling around you that you simply don't stop for the moment to actually think about it and ask them how they're doing. You might not even realise that you know they are going through a difficult, or a very difficult time. This filter, this block creates such insensitivity that you don't pick up any signals they might send and your friends might reasonably assume you don't care about them. Nobody wants that to happen because losing a friend tears your heart apart, almost literally, therefore I just have to write this small yet really important reminder to my future self.

Never take great friend for granted.

Never take anyone for granted. Never let everyday worries shadow the care you actually feel towards the people who surround you. Always show you care. Do those little lovely things you used to do - a postcard, a cupcake or a lovely note for no reason. Well, for a reason - you just can't express how happy you are you have him/her in your life!

Always do the casual and highly under-appreciated "How are you, is everything fine? How's your _____?" because you do know what is going on in your friends' lives. If you don't it's high time you found out. Always ask and always listen. Don't cave in. Always reach out, always care. Friends are the best you can get from this life, appreciate them and make sure you show it.

On a funnier note, while making this collage I realised that the amount I care about a person is not always directly proportional to the number of pictures we have together. Love you guys, love you all, we need a(nother) photoshoot!

Nieko niekad nepabaig | I never finish anyth

Turiu bėdų su darbų pabaigimais. Turiu begales pradėtų nuostabių kūrybingų projektukų/darbeliukų, tačiau iki galo pabaigtus galiu suskaičiuoti ant vienos rankos pirštų.

I believe I'm suffering from the project termination syndrome. I have started a ridiculous amount of gorgeous creative little projects but the ones I have carried out from the beginning till the end can be counted on one hand.

Žiupsnelis ironijos: būtent šiuo pranešimu pradėjau blogo pratesimą po pusės metų pertraukos. Prabuvo juodraščio formatu dar pusantro mėnesio.

Pinch of irony: this exact post was the one to continue my blog after leaving it for half a year. It stayed as draft for almost two months more.
